About Polonnaruwa
Polonnaruwa was Sri Lanka's capital from the 11th–13th century after Anuradhapura fell. The ruins are more compact and arguably more photogenic — Gal Vihara's rock-carved Buddhas are the icon. A day to a day and a half.
