Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how induwara.lk, operated by Induwara Ashinsana ("we", "us"), collects, uses, and protects your information when you use https://induwara.lk(the "Service"). We aim to collect as little as possible and to be transparent about it. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

1. Who is responsible

The data controller is Induwara Ashinsana, Sri Lanka. For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected].

2. What we collect

  • Account information — if you create an account, your email address, an optional display name, and a securely hashed (never plain-text) password.
  • Content you submit — comments, tool requests, and messages you send us. Public comments are shown under a pseudonymous handle unless you choose to show your name; your email is never shown publicly.
  • Tool inputs — text or data you enter into a tool to get a result. For most tools this is processed in your browser or transiently on our server and not stored. For the AI voice generator, the text you submit is sent to a third-party text-to-speech provider to generate audio; we do not store that text or the audio, and it is not written to our logs.
  • Technical data — your IP address, browser type, and request metadata, used for security, abuse prevention, and rate-limiting.
  • Usage analytics — aggregated, privacy-respecting statistics about how pages and tools are used.

3. How we use your information

  • to provide and operate the tools and features you request;
  • to create and secure your account and respond to your messages/requests;
  • to moderate comments (including with automated tools) and prevent spam and abuse;
  • to understand usage and improve the Service;
  • to comply with legal obligations.

Our legal bases (where applicable, e.g. for users in the EU/UK) are: performance of a contract (providing the Service), our legitimate interests (security, improvement), your consent (non-essential cookies), and legal compliance.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

  • Essential cookies — a session cookie to keep you logged in. The Service can't function for account features without it.
  • Analytics cookies — Google Analytics sets cookies to measure usage. You can block these via your browser or a consent control.
  • Security — anti-bot/anti-abuse checks (e.g. a CAPTCHA-style challenge) may set cookies to protect forms.

5. Third-party services we use

We share the minimum data needed with trusted providers who process it on our behalf:

  • Google Analytics — website usage analytics.
  • Cloudflare — content delivery, security, and bot protection.
  • Email delivery provider — to send verification, notification, and reply emails.
  • AI text-to-speech provider — receives the text you submit to the voice generator solely to produce audio.
  • Payment processor(s) — if and when you make a payment, a third-party processor handles your payment details; we do not store full card numbers.

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose data only to the processors above, or where required by law.

6. Data retention

We keep account data while your account is active and content (such as comments) until it is removed by you or us. Technical/security logs are kept only for a short period. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security and international transfers

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data (such as password hashing and HTTPS), but no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Some of our providers may process data outside Sri Lanka; where they do, we rely on their safeguards for such transfers.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
