Everything on induwara.lk is published for general information and education. It is written carefully and sourced openly, but it is not professional advice, and using it does not create any advisory or professional relationship between you and Induwara Ashinsana.
1. The calculators produce estimates
Every calculator here is a model of a rule, not the rule itself. Tax brackets, EPF and ETF rates, customs and excise duties, loan-to-value caps, exchange rates and exam cut-offs all change — sometimes mid-year, sometimes retroactively, and sometimes before we notice. A result should be treated as an estimate to sanity-check against the official figure, not as the figure itself.
Each tool names the source it was built from and the date that source was last verified. If the two disagree, the official source wins. Where a tool depends on a rate we fetch automatically, that rate can be stale or unavailable.
2. Not tax, legal or financial advice
Tax, payroll, customs, loan, pension and investment tools cannot see your full circumstances, and Sri Lankan tax law in particular contains reliefs, exemptions and transitional rules that no general calculator can apply for you. Before filing a return, signing a loan, paying a duty, or making any decision with money attached, confirm the numbers with the Inland Revenue Department, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka Customs, your bank, or a qualified accountant or lawyer as appropriate.
3. Not medical advice
The health tools — BMI, body fat, heart-rate zones, calorie and macro estimates, pregnancy and ovulation dates, risk scores such as FINDRISC, and the blood-alcohol estimator — apply published population formulas to the numbers you type in. They cannot diagnose anything, they do not account for your medical history or medication, and population averages are frequently wrong about individuals.
Nothing here is a substitute for a doctor. Never delay or disregard medical advice because of something you read on this site, and in an emergency contact the emergency services (1990 Suwa Seriya in Sri Lanka) rather than a web page.
The blood-alcohol tool deserves its own line: it is an estimate built on the Widmark formula, individual metabolism varies widely, and it is published to explain the legal limit — not to help anyone decide they are safe to drive. If you have been drinking, do not drive.
4. Third-party information and links
We link to government departments, banks, universities and other outside sites. Those pages are not under our control; we are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability, and a link is not an endorsement.
5. How this site is built, and what that means
induwara.lk is an unusually automated site: an AI pipeline drafts tools and content, and Induwara Ashinsana reviews and is accountable for what is published. Calculation logic is written against a cited official source and checked against it. We say this openly because you should know how the thing you are reading was made — see About for the full explanation.
6. Availability and liability
The tools are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the site will be available, uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Induwara Ashinsana is not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on anything published here. This does not limit any liability that cannot legally be limited. See our Terms of Service.
7. Advertising
Some pages carry third-party advertising. Adverts are selected by the ad network, not by us — their appearance here is not an endorsement, and we have no relationship with the advertisers. How advertising cookies work is set out in our Privacy Policy.
8. Found a mistake?
Please report it. A tool returning a wrong number is the one thing here worth interrupting me for, and corrections are made quickly and noted on the tool’s page. Email [email protected] or use the contact page.
