Free AI Tools for Students — Discount & Eligibility Checker

This checker is a lookup, not a guess. For each AI tool it stores the published monthly list price, the published student price, the offer type (free, discounted, a time-limited promo, paused to new users, or none), the verification the provider requires, and the countries where the offer can be claimed. Every figure was last checked against the official pages on 2026-07-17, and each result links back to its source.

When you choose your student status, country, and tools, the tool decides eligibility with a fixed set of rules, applied in order:

1. If you select “Not a student,” nothing qualifies — these are student and educator programs.
2. If a tool has no student offer (ChatGPT Plus) or has paused new sign-ups (GitHub Copilot and Cursor as of mid-2026), it is shown with that reason and counts zero saving.
3. If a program requires university enrolment, high-school students are marked ineligible for it.
4. If the offer does not reach your country — Google AI Pro's current free trial is United States only — the row is flagged “Not in your country” and adds nothing to your total.
5. Otherwise the tool is eligible, and your monthly saving is max(0, list price − student price).

The period saving is that monthly figure times 1 (per month) or 12 (per year), and the total sums only the eligible rows. The LKR column multiplies the USD total by a single documented constant — the Central Bank of Sri Lanka indicative rate of Rs 300 per USD on 2026-07-17 — because a real-time rate would make the page non-deterministic; the live interbank rate moves daily. The headline total is computed two independent ways (each row scaled, versus the summed monthly figure scaled once) and the two must agree to the cent, the same cross-check style used by the Sri Lanka tax calculator.
