Sri Lanka Family Benefits Checker 2026
Find out which government welfare programmes your family in Sri Lanka qualifies for — Aswesuma, Agrahara insurance, elderly allowance, and widows pension. Three simple steps. No signup.
How the Checker Works
This tool checks your household details against the eligibility rules for four of Sri Lanka's main government benefit programmes. It is designed for Sri Lankans living abroad — in the UAE, Qatar, Australia, UK, Canada, or elsewhere — who want to know what their family members back home may be entitled to.
Aswesumaeligibility uses the Welfare Benefits Board's published income-per-capita thresholds as a proxy for the Proxy Means Test (PMT). The actual PMT uses multiple variables, so this estimate may differ from the official result. If it shows likely eligible, visit your Divisional Secretariat to apply.
Agrahara (NITF health insurance) eligibility is straightforward — confirmed government servants and pensioners qualify. The checker shows this immediately.
Elderly Allowance (Rs 3,000/month) is paid to household members aged 70 and above who have no pension income. Aswesuma recipients also receive Rs 3,000/month per elderly member aged 60+.
Widows & Orphans Pension— if your household's main earner was a government servant who has passed away, the Department of Pensions pays a monthly pension to their spouse and children.
