Certified Paddy Price Sri Lanka & Harvest Income Calculator
See the current guaranteed paddy price — Nadu Rs 120, Samba Rs 130, Keeri Samba Rs 140 per kg — then enter your acres and expected yield to get your harvest in kilograms and bushels and the cheque the Paddy Marketing Board should pay. Optional net-profit and open-market comparison. No signup.
How it works
The calculator starts from the certified (guaranteed) paddy purchase price set by the Cabinet and paid by the Paddy Marketing Board (PMB) at its collecting centres. Certified prices for the 2026 Yala (carried from 2025/26 Maha) season were announced on June 30, 2026: Nadu Rs 120/kg, Samba Rs 130/kg and Keeri Samba Rs 140/kg. These are floors — the PMB will not pay less — so they anchor your minimum expected income.
Every figure is computed in kilograms, the calculator's canonical unit, then shown in bushels too because that is what most farmers and PMB collectors count in. The steps are:
- Normalise extent to acres. If you enter hectares, it is converted with
acres = hectares × 2.47105(1 hectare = 2.47105 acres). - Normalise yield to kg per acre. kg/acre is used as-is; bushels/acre is multiplied by 20.87 (1 bushel = 20.87 kg); kg/hectare is divided by 2.47105.
- Total harvest.
total kg = yield (kg/acre) × acres, andbushels = total kg ÷ 20.87. - Gross income.
gross = total kg × certified price. For the "Other" variety, which has no gazetted price, the tool uses the price you enter, defaulting to the Nadu rate. - Optional net profit. If you supply a cost of production (Rs/kg),
net = gross − (total kg × cost)and margin = net ÷ gross. The default cost is an editable national-average estimate, not your specific cost. - Optional open-market comparison.Enter a private mill's offer and the tool computes
PMB advantage = gross − (total kg × market price); a positive number means selling to the PMB pays more.
As an independent check, the tool also values the harvest through the bushel path — price-per-bushel (certified price × 20.87) multiplied by the number of bushels — and confirms it matches the kilogram-based gross to the rupee. Yield and cost defaults come from the Department of Census & Statistics; the certified prices and the 20.87 kg bushel come from the Paddy Marketing Board.

Certified prices were last verified against the Cabinet announcement of June 30, 2026 on 2026-07-12. Certified prices are re-gazetted around each Maha and Yala season — re-verify against the latest Extraordinary Gazette before relying on a figure. Yield and cost-of-production defaults are adjustable national averages, not farmer-specific values.
