Sri Lanka Farmers' Pension Calculator
Pick your enrolment age and a pension tier to see what the government Farmers' Pension pays: your fixed contribution, the total paid to age 60, and the stepped monthly pension you draw from 60 onward — plus disability and death benefits. Free, no signup, sources cited.
How it works
The Farmers' Pension and Social Security Benefit Scheme is run by the Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board (AAIB) under Act No. 12 of 1987. It gives self-employed cultivators — who have no EPF or ETF — a formal old-age income. The calculator uses the AAIB's published pension bands, contribution tiers, and benefit tables. The method has four parts:
- Eligibility. Enrolment is accepted from age 18. This version handles joining up to age 55, which still draws a pension at 60. Joining at 56–59 uses a different five-year qualifying rule and is out of scope here.
- Contribution. The premium is fixed at enrolment and never changes. The AAIB publishes it for a member who joins at 18: Rs 27 a month for the base tier, Rs 270 for ×10, and Rs 2,700 for ×100, collected twice a year. Later joiners pay a higher fixed premium because fewer years remain to 60.
- Total paid. Total contribution to age 60 is the monthly premium multiplied by twelve and by the number of years from your enrolment age to 60 —
total = premium × 12 × (60 − enrolment age). - Stepped pension. The pension is not flat. On the base tier it pays Rs 1,000 a month at ages 60–63, Rs 1,250 at 64–70, Rs 2,000 at 71–77, and Rs 5,000 from 78. The ×10 and ×100 tiers multiply every band by 10 and 100. The tool renders the exact band amounts — no interpolation.
Because the AAIB publishes the exact premium only for the age-18 anchor, the calculator treats that figure as verified and estimates other ages by spreading the same lifetime total over your remaining months to 60. That estimate is clearly flagged, and the pension, disability, and death figures are always the exact published amounts. Two independent totals — one from the monthly premium and one from the half-yearly collection — are computed and must agree to the rupee, which guards against arithmetic slips.

The pension bands, contribution tiers, and disability and death benefit amounts were last cross-checked against the AAIB Farmers' Pension page on 2026-07-16. Premiums for enrolment ages other than 18 are estimated transparently, as the AAIB does not publish the full per-age table; confirm the binding figure at your Agrarian Services Centre before enrolling.
