Sri Lanka Fuel Price Today — Petrol & Diesel Prices
Today's retail price of every fuel grade — Petrol 92 & 95 Octane, Auto Diesel, Super Diesel and Kerosene — for CEYPETCO, Lanka IOC and Sinopec, with a fill-up cost calculator and the recent price-revision history. No signup, sources cited below.
How it works
This page publishes the announced retail price for each fuel grade — the authoritative figure a shed charges — rather than re-deriving it from crude. Sri Lanka reprices fuel under a cost-reflective automatic pricing formula overseen by the Ministry of Energy, and every change is announced by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO). The prices in the table are transcribed from the official CEYPETCO notice and stamped with a LAST_VERIFIED date.
The pricing formula layers several cost components:
- Benchmark product cost. The Singapore Platts refined-product price for petrol or gasoil (diesel), which moves with global crude and refinery margins.
- Freight and premium. Shipping, insurance and the trader premium to land the cargo at Colombo.
- Exchange rate. The landed cost is in US dollars, so it is converted at the prevailing USD/LKR rate — a weaker rupee raises the pump price even if the dollar price is flat.
- Duty and taxes.Customs import duty, excise, the Ports & Airports Levy (PAL), the Social Security Contribution Levy (SSCL) and VAT.
- Supplier margin.Distribution, dealer commission and the operator's margin.
When these components move enough, CEYPETCO announces a revision — usually monthly, occasionally mid-month. Lanka IOC and Sinopec then align their retail prices to the same revision, which is why a litre of Petrol 92 or Auto Diesel costs the same at all three. The fill-up calculator uses two plain formulas: total cost = litres × price and its inverse litres = budget ÷ price. The revision-history table computes each change as change% = (new − old) ÷ old × 100, so you can see how sharply a grade moved. Every price is cross-checked against CEYPETCO's own published revision history before shipping.

Prices were last cross-checked against the CEYPETCO notice and its published revision history on 2026-07-08. Effective from midnight 29 June 2026 (CEYPETCO revision dated 30.06.2026).
