O/L Time Table 2026 (December): Subject-wise Dates and Exam Countdown

Three things people search for are not yet public. This page says so rather than guessing. The official news feed was checked on 2026-11-05.

The dates on this page are not estimated and not copied from a news site. They are a transcription of one document, the Department of Examinations' G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination 2026 Time Table, reference 6/4/2026, signed on 6 Oct 2026 by A.K.S. Indika Kumari Liyanage, Commissioner General of Examinations. The Department lists it on its Exam Calendar in English, Sinhala and Tamil, and the English version was downloaded directly from doenets.lk and read row by row. Each row is stored as a date, a session (morning or afternoon), a start and end time in the Department's 24-hour notation, and the official subject code printed beside the subject.

One table, two pages. The rows live in a single data module shared with the site's general exam time table tool. This page reads the same 18 session rows over 9 exam days, so the two cannot disagree. A structural audit runs over the rows: dates must sit inside the announced window and in order, every session must end after it starts, morning sessions must start before noon, and no subject code may appear twice with the same paper number. The page also checks that the only date in the window with no session is 13 Dec 2026. If any check fails, a warning is printed above instead of a silent wrong table.

The countdown measures from the current instant to the start of the first paper, 8 Dec 2026 at 08:30. Sri Lanka has kept a fixed UTC+05:30 offset with no daylight saving since 2006, so the target instant is exact. The counter renders only after the page loads in your browser, so a cached copy never shows a stale number, and the calendar-day figure is counted in Colombo dates, not in the time zone of whoever is reading.

Your own dates are a set intersection. For the subject codes you tick, the tool returns every session whose paper list contains one of them, sorted by date and start time. It never infers a paper you did not ask for. Free days are the dates between your first and last paper with nothing on them, and the count is re-derived a second way: a span of N days holding E exam days has N minus E free days. A clash is reported only when two codes you selected share the same date and session, which is how the Department builds its subject baskets: the religion papers share the first morning, the technology basket shares 15 December, and the sixteen-subject basket with Business & Accounting Studies, Geography and the second languages shares 17 December.

What is not here. The admission-card date, the candidate count and the results date have not been announced. Those boxes say "not announced" and quote the previous sitting as context, labelled as a news report. Nothing you tick is sent anywhere; the schedule is built in your browser.

Hall rule printed on the table: "Use of calculators, correcting fluid for any subject in this examination is not allowed, and it is a punishable offence even to bring any electronic device including mobile phones into the examination hall."

No notice yet for the December sitting (checked 2026-11-05). The steps below describe the process the Department used at the previous sitting, as reported by the press, so you know what to look for.

1. Watch doenets.lk for the Department's notice. As of the date above there is none for the December sitting.
2. School candidates: the school collects the cards through its zonal education office and hands them out. Check every detail on your card the day you get it.
3. Private candidates: the card comes by post to the address on your application. If it has not arrived close to the exam, call 1911.
4. Errors in name, NIC, medium or subjects: at the last sitting these were corrected online at doenets.lk with the NIC number, before a closing date about a week ahead of the first paper.
5. Bring the card, your NIC or other accepted identity document, and no electronic device of any kind to the hall.
