About Colombo
Colombo is the country's commercial heart and easiest landing pad — a 30-minute drive from Bandaranaike airport. A day or two covers the Pettah markets, the Galle Face seafront, the old British/Dutch quarters, and a couple of the modern landmarks like the Lotus Tower. Most travellers use it as a transit base, but it rewards a careful wander.
