How long it stays valid
12 months from purchase. Book and sit the exam before it expires, a code that has simply run out of time cannot be replaced, so do not buy months ahead of when you plan to use it.
How you redeem it
Book the exam with Pearson VUE as normal, then enter this code at the payment step instead of paying the fee. You choose the date, and whether you sit it at a test centre or from home with OnVUE proctoring.
If the code does not work
If the vendor rejects it when you try to redeem it, tell us straight away and we replace it or refund you in full. Contact us before the voucher’s own expiry date.
If you do not pass
A voucher covers one attempt. A retake needs a new voucher, and the vendor, not us, sets how long you must wait before sitting the exam again. Check the vendor’s retake policy before you book.
Changing your mind
Full refund for any reason as long as we have not yet sent the code, including if you realise you have ordered the wrong exam, which is easy to do when codes look alike. CompTIA positions SecurityX for security architects and senior security engineers. Because it is the rebranded continuation of CASP+, existing CASP+ holders keep their certification status - CompTIA's announcement states the name change does not affect current holders or the continuing education programme.

SecurityX is an expert-level credential, so the realistic audience here is senior security staff at organisations that have to demonstrate security governance to overseas clients, auditors or regulators. Watch the naming when you search: material published before December 2024 refers to this certification as CASP+, which is the same certification under its previous name. The exam runs up to 165 minutes through Pearson VUE, at a test centre or from home through OnVUE, and is published in English, with other languages to be determined. Yes. CompTIA rebranded CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) as CompTIA SecurityX, and the V5 exam released on 17 December 2024 replaced CASP+ V4. The exam code for the current version is CAS-005. CompTIA states the name change does not affect the certification status of existing CASP+ holders.

There is no numeric passing score. CompTIA scores SecurityX pass/fail only, with no scaled score published - so unlike Network+ or CySA+, you will not receive a 100-900 number.
