If the code does not work

If you do not pass
A voucher covers one attempt. A retake needs a new voucher, and the vendor, not us, sets how long you must wait before sitting the exam again. Check the vendor’s retake policy before you book.

Is this an NSE 6 exam or an NSE 5 exam?
NSE 5. Fortinet's exam description page is titled "Fortinet NSE 5 - FortiWeb 8.0 Administrator" and the exam is listed on the NSE 5 in Cloud Security certification track alongside FortiAppSec Administrator and FortiADC Administrator. The NSE 6 label in older listings is legacy — worth checking before you book, because the voucher level and the exam level need to match.
How long is the exam and how many questions?
75 minutes and 35 to 40 questions, in English or Japanese, against FortiWeb 8.0.
Which FortiWeb version does the current exam test?
FortiWeb 8.0. Fortinet's register shows this version of the exam was released on 11 February 2026. The earlier NSE 5 - FortiWeb 7.4 Administrator exam is in the discontinued table with a last delivery date of 31 May 2026 and can no longer be sat, so 7.4-era study material is out of date for exam purposes.
What is the pass mark?

Do I need NSE 4 before I can take it?
Not to sit the exam. The NSE 4 FortiOS certification is required to be awarded the NSE 5 in Cloud Security certification, and Fortinet asks that you pass one proctored NSE 5 Cloud Security exam within 2 years. Fortinet separately recommends around 6 months of hands-on FortiWeb experience before attempting it.
Does the exam cover API security?
Yes, and that is one of the clearer differences from older FortiWeb exams. API discovery and protection sits in the same exam domain as web application security and bot mitigation, and the exam also covers FortiAI and web vulnerability scanning.
