Edexcel & Cambridge Exam Fees 2026 Sri Lanka
Total what British Council Sri Lanka will charge you to sit Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel exams as a private candidate in the October/November 2026 series. Pick your exact syllabus options or units, see what late registration adds per subject, and check which deadline window you are in today.
How it works
There is no model here and no estimate. The calculator holds 577 fee rows transcribed from the two British Council Sri Lanka fee lists for the October/November 2026 series, and does lookup and addition on them. The two boards publish their late pricing in structurally different ways, so the arithmetic differs by board.
Cambridge
The Cambridge fee list gives one Total Fee (LKR) per row, and a row is a syllabus code plus an option code— not a subject. That is why two candidates sitting “IGCSE First Language English” can pay different amounts: option AY of syllabus 0500 is Rs 65,100, option CY is Rs 53,700. Late entry is then a flat rupee amount added per subject, taken from the fee list's KEY DATES table:
total = Σ fee(syllabus, option) + n × addOn(stage) addOn(Normal) = 0 addOn(Late Stage 1) = 28,380 per subject addOn(Late Stage 2) = 69,845 per subject
The add-on is flat and never a percentage of the fee: five subjects at Late Stage 2 pay exactly 5 × Rs 69,845 = Rs 349,225 extra, whether their normal fees came to Rs 200,000 or Rs 500,000.
Pearson Edexcel
Edexcel does not publish an add-on. It publishes three price columns per unit — Standard, Low late fee, High late fee — so the calculator simply reads whichever column your registration stage names and sums it. A row is a unit, not a subject, so a full IAL A Level is six rows: IAL Biology units WBI11 to WBI16 are Rs 21,700 each at standard, Rs 44,900 in the low late column and Rs 68,100 in the high late column.
Some units print a dash in both late columns. Those cannot be entered late at all: British Council does not accept late registration for subjects that include coursework, practical or speaking test components. The calculator excludes such a unit from that column's total, names it, and reports what it would have cost at the standard column — so a late total containing an exclusion can never read as a discount. In the October/November 2026 Edexcel list, 57 International GCSE rows and all six GCSE rows are in that position.
Deadline windows
Each fee list carries its own key-dates table, and the tool compares today's date against it to name your window and the next deadline. One Cambridge table covers all three of its qualifications: normal stage Jun 24, 2026 → Aug 7, 2026, Late Stage 1 Aug 8, 2026 → Sep 14, 2026, then Late Stage 2 from 15 September 2026 with no published close. Edexcel publishes separate windows — IAL normal stage Aug 5, 2026 → Aug 21, 2026, International GCSE normal stage Aug 19, 2026 → Sep 4, 2026 — and none at all for GCSE, which the calculator says rather than borrowing the other dates.
Rounding, and how the figures were checked
Every source figure is an exact rupee amount ending in .00, stored as an integer, so no rounding step and no rounding error exist. The Cambridge total is also computed a second way — pricing each subject all-in and summing those — which catches the one slip possible here: multiplying the per-subject add-on by the wrong count. The worked examples below, the Rs 45,660 O Level flat-fee anchor and the transcribed row count are asserted as 18 self-checks in the data module, of which 18 pass on this build.

Every rupee figure on this page was transcribed from the two fee-list PDFs above and last cross-checked against them on 2026-09-25. British Council publishes two fee lists a year, one per exam series; the May/June 2027 lists are expected around December 2026, and this page is reviewed then.
