Sri Lanka Government Job Eligibility Checker

Every post in the Sri Lankan public service is governed by a Service Minute published in the Gazette, and every recruitment notice repeats the same three hard gates from it: a minimum qualification, an age band counted on the application closing date, and citizenship. This tool applies those gates in the order the notices themselves read, so the answer you get names the rule that is furthest upstream — the thing you would have to fix first.

1. Citizenship. Every notice in this set requires citizenship of Sri Lanka. Without it no row is open, so it is tested first.
2. Qualification. Each post carries the exact list of qualifications its notice accepts. Your selection is expanded into its downward closure first — a degree satisfies the A/L and O/L rungs beneath it, which is why one selection can answer all 14rows. A named professional qualification (Attorney-at-Law, CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA) is deliberately kept off that ladder: it opens the Accountants', Inland Revenue and Translators' rows, because those notices name it, and nothing else.
3. Degree field.Four posts restrict the subject — the Accountants' Service to Commerce, Accountancy, Economics or Management, the Scientific Service to Science, and the two Sri Lanka ICT Service officer grades to Computer Science or Information Technology. The other rows take any recognised degree, so the field gate only fires when you are entering on a degree and the notice restricts it.
4. Age band. The test is ageMin ≤ age ≤ ageMax, inclusive at both ends, because that is how the notices word it (“not less than 22 years and not more than 28 years”). Age is taken on the closing date.
5. The limited stream.If you are past a post's open band, are a serving permanent public officer, and meet the years of service its internal stream asks for, the row is marked Limited stream rather than closed. Limited notices set their own age band, so the tool reports the route and points you at the current call instead of inventing a number.

Where the pay figures come from

Salary is priced only from Public Administration Circular 03/2016, Schedule I, which this site already transcribes for the Public Service Salary Scale Finder. The basic at any step is initial + increment × n for 0 ≤ n ≤ steps − 1, so the ceiling is initial + increment × (steps − 1). For MM-3-2016 that is Rs 47,615 at entry, Rs 54,290 after 5 years, and Rs 70,310 at step 18.

A post is only given a salary code when the entry basic published for it in the source handbook equals that code's Schedule I initial exactly. That test passes for 7 of the 14 posts — all of them on MM-3-2016. The other 7 publish an entry basic that matches no Schedule I initial in our transcription, most likely because the handbook figure for those grades predates the 2016 salary conversion, so the tool shows no pay figure for them rather than a number it cannot tie to the circular. The reconciliation table below is generated from the data module, not typed by hand.

The rules here are the standing ones. A live recruitment notice can narrow them — a graduate teacher call is subject-wise, a Scientific Service call may ask for a particular class — so each row also lists the conditions its notice adds, and the tool never claims to predict selection. Eligibility is a published rule; cut-off marks are not.

Two independent sources must agree before a pay figure is published: the entry basic printed in the source handbook's entry for the post, and the step-1 initial for that salary code in PA Circular 03/2016, Schedule I.

The pay preview is also computed twice — once in closed form here, once by walking the increments through the salary module's own calculateBasic(). Both methods agree to the rupee for every code: MM-3-2016 → Rs 54,290 / Rs 54,290.
