EPS-TOPIK Sri Lanka — Eligibility & Point Checker
Check in seconds whether you may sit Sri Lanka’s Special EPS-TOPIK examination for South Korea — the exact date-of-birth window, prior Korean service, and every disqualifier SLBFE lists — then score yourself out of 200on Korea’s point-based selection system. Free, no signup, sources cited.
How it works
Two separate rules decide an EPS application, and applicants often confuse them. The first is eligibility: a list of conditions in SLBFE’s Instructions for Applicantsnotice, each of which you either meet or do not. The second is selection: a 200-point score set out in the Ministry of Employment and Labour’s Point-Based Selection notice, which ranks everyone who passed the first test. This page runs both.
The age window
The rule is 18 to 39 completed years, so the arithmetic is a date range rather than an age. SLBFE printed the Special EPS-TOPIK 2026 window as 1986-04-28 to 2008-04-27, for a registration window opening 2026-04-28. That window reconciles to a reference date of 2026-04-27 — the day before registration opens — and not to the opening day itself, which would push every bound a day later. This page derives its window from the reference date and checks the result against the printed one: 1986-04-28 to 2008-04-27, matching the notice exactly.
The disqualifiers
Five answers end an application on their own: imprisonment or a heavier punishment; deportation, a departure order or any illegal stay in Korea; a Sri Lankan departure ban; colour blindness or colour weakness; and cumulative E-9 plus E-10 employment in Korea of 5 years or more — 6years where the employment period was extended under Article 18-2(2) of Korea’s Act on the Employment of Foreign Workers. A herniated disc, finger amputation or spinal injury sits in its own category: you may sit the examination, and the condition is assessed during the second round.
The 200-point score
The first round is the EPS-TOPIK itself — 40 multiple-choice questions, 20 reading and 20 listening at 5 marks each, 50 minutes, 200marks. That raw mark is scaled into the industry’s first-round allocation:
firstRound = epsTopikRaw × (allocation ÷ 200)
The allocation is 100 for manufacturing and shipbuilding and 90 for every other industry, with the balance of the 200 going to the second round. The second round is the Skills Test — physical fitness 30, interview 30, and basic job skills 40 or 50 depending on the industry — plus the document-based Job Capacity Assessment. Score below 60% of the Skills Test perfect score and the application ends there whatever the combined total: 60.0 of 100, or 66.0 of 110.
Additional points come from two places. The Job Capacity Assessment awards 3 for a certificate of work experience, 1 for training or a junior-college diploma and 1 for a national qualification — doubled to 5, 3 and 2 for shipbuilding — and only where the evidence is submitted. Repatriated workers holding a support-training certificate add up to 20 more. The combined total is the sum of all four parts.
Why a score is not a prediction
Selection is by rank. The first round screens down to 1.1× the recruitment quota, ties included, among applicants above that industry’s lowest score limit; final candidates are then the highest combined totals until the quota is filled. Both the quota and the lowest score limit are set per cycle and published late, so this page reports where you stand on the published scale and never tells you that you will be selected.
