AZ-140: Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty

The AZ-140 exam voucher costs Rs 13,000/= at induwara.lk, payable in Sri Lankan rupees by card or bank transfer. It is an official single-use voucher for the Microsoft exam, not a practice test or a training course. The voucher is valid for 12 months from purchase. After payment our team confirms your order and sends the voucher code by email.

What this voucher is

The Microsoft voucher for AZ-140: Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty, with no currency conversion to work out. It is the exam fee itself — a single-use code you redeem when you book your exam with the vendor's testing provider. It is not a training course, a practice test bundle or a study guide.

Each voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, so you can book the exam when you are ready rather than the day you buy.

Who sits this exam

AZ-140: Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty is aimed at developers, sysadmins and architects working on cloud platforms. It is a specialty exam covering a focused area rather than a broad role. Cloud credentials travel further than almost anything else on a Sri Lankan CV, because the platform is identical everywhere.

Why buy it here

Vendor exam fees are quoted in US dollars, which means the rupee price you actually pay depends on your card's rate on the day and whatever your bank adds on top. Here the price is fixed in rupees — Rs 13,000/= — so what you see is what leaves your account.

You can pay by card through PayHere, or by direct bank transfer if you would rather not put an exam fee on a card. Both are confirmed by us before anything is sent.

How delivery works

Delivery is handled by a person, not a script. Once your payment is confirmed, our team contacts you and sends the voucher code to the email address on your order. That usually happens the same day, and you will hear from us either way — if there is any delay sourcing a particular voucher, we tell you rather than leaving the order sitting.

If you need an invoice for an employer or a training budget, say so when you order and we will issue one against the order number.

What you get, and what happens next

What you get
One official single-use exam voucher for AZ-140, AZ-140: Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty, covering the exam fee in full. It is a code, not a study course and not a practice test. There is nothing physical to ship and no delivery charge.
When it arrives
Emailed to the address on your order once we have confirmed the payment, by a person rather than automatically. In practice that is usually the same day and almost always within one working day. If sourcing a particular voucher is going to take longer, we tell you rather than leaving the order sitting.
How long it stays valid
12 months from purchase. Book and sit the exam before it expires, a code that has simply run out of time cannot be replaced, so do not buy months ahead of when you plan to use it.
How you redeem it
Book the exam with Pearson VUE as normal, then enter this code at the payment step instead of paying the fee. You choose the date, and whether you sit it at a test centre or from home with OnVUE proctoring.
If the code does not work
If the vendor rejects it when you try to redeem it, tell us straight away and we replace it or refund you in full. Contact us before the voucher’s own expiry date.
If you do not pass
A voucher covers one attempt. A retake needs a new voucher, and the vendor, not us, sets how long you must wait before sitting the exam again. Check the vendor’s retake policy before you book.
Changing your mind
Full refund for any reason as long as we have not yet sent the code, including if you realise you have ordered the wrong exam, which is easy to do when codes look alike. Once the code has been sent it cannot be refunded, because the code is the product and it is single-use. Refunds & delivery in full.

Where it leads

AZ-140 maps to virtual desktop and end-user computing work: AVD administrator, end-user computing engineer, Citrix or VMware Horizon specialists retraining onto Azure, and modern workplace consultants. It is a specialty certification, so it sits beside rather than above the associate track — it pairs naturally with AZ-104 for someone whose job is delivering desktops rather than general cloud infrastructure. Microsoft's own audience profile has the holder working closely with Azure administrators, Azure architects, Microsoft 365 administrators, Azure security engineers and Azure Local administrators.

Sitting this exam in Sri Lanka

On price: the US$165 figure in most guides is the United States price. Microsoft prices exams by the country or region in which they are proctored, and Pearson VUE's official Microsoft price list puts a role-based or specialty exam proctored in Sri Lanka at US$58 commercial, or US$32 academic for verified students and educators. A local voucher at {{PRICE}} settles that fee in rupees. On fit: Azure Virtual Desktop is the delivery model behind a lot of secure remote and outsourced work, so this is a credential for people who already have to hand staff or offshore clients a controlled Windows desktop without shipping laptops — managed service providers, BPO operations and internal end-user computing teams. It is a specialty exam for people already doing that job, not a general cloud entry point. Delivered by Pearson VUE at an authorised test centre or online from home with an OnVUE proctor, in seven languages including English but not Sinhala or Tamil.

AZ-140 exam fee and questions people ask

What does AZ-140 actually cost in Sri Lanka?
Microsoft prices exams by the country or region in which they are proctored, so the US$165 you see quoted is the United States price. Pearson VUE's official Microsoft price list — linked from its Microsoft voucher page and last updated 1 November 2024 — lists a role-based or specialty exam proctored in Sri Lanka at US$58 commercial, and US$32 academic for verified students and educators.
How long is AZ-140 and how many questions will I face?
Microsoft gives you 100 minutes to complete the assessment. Allow 120 minutes of seat time, or 140 minutes if the exam serves labs, which is Microsoft's published guidance for associate and expert role-based exams. Microsoft does not publish a question count for AZ-140; it says most of its exams typically contain 40 to 60 questions.
Which part of AZ-140 carries the most marks?
Plan and implement an Azure Virtual Desktop infrastructure, at 40–45% — by far the largest domain. It covers networking including RDP Shortpath and RDP Multipath and QoS policies, storage for FSLogix components and user data, host pool architecture and sizing, session host creation by portal, PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM templates and Bicep, and building and managing session host images including Azure VM Image Builder and Azure Compute Gallery.
Does the exam still test FSLogix?
Yes. FSLogix is its own section inside Plan and implement user environments and apps, which is 20–25% of the exam, and it covers Profile Containers, ODFC containers, Cloud Cache and application masking. The same domain now also covers configuring dynamic application delivery by using App attach, including creating an application package for App attach.
Do I need AZ-104 or AZ-900 before AZ-140?
Neither is required — Microsoft lists no prerequisite for AZ-140. What it does expect is a server or desktop administrator background plus experience with Azure compute, networking, identity, storage and resiliency, and the ability to manage end-user desktop environments through the Azure portal, templates, scripting and command-line tools.
Does the Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty certification expire?
Yes. The certification page states a Renewal Frequency of 12 months. Renewal costs nothing: you pass a shorter, unproctored, open-book assessment on Microsoft Learn during the six-month window before your expiry date, and passing extends the certification one year from the expiration date.
Is AZ-140 offered in Sinhala or Tamil?
No. It is offered in English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil) and Chinese (Simplified). If you must sit it in English rather than your native language, Microsoft lets you request an accommodation for an additional 30 minutes in advance through Pearson VUE's English as a Second Language process.
What is the pass mark and the retake rule?
700 out of 1,000 on Microsoft's scaled scale — and Microsoft notes a scaled score may not equal 70% of the points. If you fail, you wait 24 hours before your second attempt, then 14 days between each further attempt, capped at five attempts within 12 months of your first try. You must pay for every attempt and there are no refunds for exams you do not pass.
